Exhaust
Fittings
I like the exhaust
fittings under the car to be tight, so that fumes and un-burnt oil don't get
vented into the engine compartment and make everything dirty. The way I
accomplish this is with a couple of exhaust connectors from any auto store and
some flexible pipe. I use connectors of OD 2" to OD 2". Alternatively
you can use ID 1 and 7/8" to ID 1 and 7/8". They are the same thing.
On the exhaust fitting below the engine I use muffler filler to ensure there are
no leaks (the light-gray substance below). I don't do that on the fitting at the
side of the car. Two screws are used to attach each connector to the fitting. I
use 2" ID flexible pipe and appropriate clamps. There's no leakage with
this type of setup and flexible pipes that I've had to remove come off very
easily.
