Hi Rich,

Just an update on our restoration of the Casey Jones. The mechanical systems are completed and we took it out on our track on Oct. 3 for a test run and to make whatever adjustments were necessary. Considering that it had not run under its own power since 1956, everything went better than expected. After the run, the car was placed in our main exhibit hall, not back in the storage area where I was working. I am mailing you a few pictures that were taken just after the run when we moved into the main hall. You will see that we have not yet completed the roof assembly, and the lower foot boards are off. (This was for more room to get the car out of the rear area). The foot boards are now in place. You will notice the paint on the wheels has worn off from the test run, just enough to show some rust, but not enough wear to shine them up!

Regards,

Gary Morse
