FOR SALE (Sep 6) IA - Fairmont MT-14 This is a very nice motorcar! It is NARCOA inspected and ready to go! We have been on two rides this summer and have had no problems. We just put in a new alternator two weeks ago. It has the original heater, it turns on but not hooked up to the gas tank. It has two seats and all controls work as they should. It is very hard to find a motorcar in this great original condition! Wipers, fan and lights all work great! It does not have a turn table. FOR SALE (Aug 8) NJ - 1952 Fairmont M-19 with ROC. Car was originally built for the Wabash. The original cab was removed and replaced with a Canadian Fairmont fiberglass cab. This car is in running, NARCOA ready condition and has excellent wheels and brakes. A new fuel tank was installed this year. The drive belt does need to be replaced and a new leather belt will be included in the sale of this car or can be installed prior to purchasing. This car is equipped with a railroad locomotive radio antenna, small electric air compressor and air horn. FOR SALE (Jun 7) TX - Passenger Trailer, built on a Fairmont motorcar frame, possibly an S2. Car is NARCOA ready, with seating for 4+ passengers, handrails, brakes and lights. Lights are wired to run from the towing motorcar and can be easily converted to another wiring scheme. Storage area located underneath seats for coolers, tools, etc. All 4 wheels are NARCOA compliant, although one will need to be replaced soon. Car includes tow bar mounted on rear of frame. Car has been stored inside when not in use. FOR SALE (May 20) TX - Fairmont S2 Narcoa ready with your first aid kit and flags, etc. This speeder has a new fairmont RQD that I removed from the crate myself. I haven't started it yet. This speeder has an alternator, good wheels, and is a nice ride. Its original engine had a gasket failure, and I haven't had the time to replace the gaskets. I installed this new engine, and am waiting to get time free to get on a run. But I need to thin my fleet out so I'm offering this one if someone wants to get it going for this summer. FOR SALE (May 20) TX - Fairmont S2 vintage 1952 speeder. Originally an S2 from Louisiana northern I believe. I had an ST2 chassis that needed a cab and motor, so I combined the 2. My first speeder and has been the workhorse of my fleet. I have added the usual Narcoa add ons plus a new set of wheels with about 10 runs on them. It is railroady...but has never let me down, and has pulled in some ailing onans on a couple occasions, ( and a popper once too ). It has an oroginal pontiac coil...I bought three of the last ones Fairmont had back in the day. I have to create some barn room, and am thinning the fleet. I'm asking $3,500. for it. FOR SALE (Apr 28) CA - Motor car collection. 4 motor cars for sale as a collection. All cars have been kept dry and protected from sun and dirt.
Car 1 - Fairmont MT-14 with a fiberglass pumpkin body. It is in original condition as it came from CN rail and is marked with the number 186-30. It is complete with all glass, running gear and original lights/wiring.
Car 2 - Tamper TC-2 complete with Briggs and Stratton engine that was fully rebuilt, Apollo clutch and transmission unit and an extra pulley unit. It is missing the glass both front and back, gas tank and needs assembly but otherwise all the parts are there. The body is in good shape with no major cracks and the frame looks good and appears straight. Only the bumpers have any bends in them.
Car 3 - very rare Kalamzoo metal body. It is complete with all the placards and includes an extra transmission. There is a lot of rust on the body but the engine, frame and running gear look to be in good shape.
Car 4 - Fairmont MT-19 fiberglass pumpkin body. It is complete with the exception that all the glass is either missing or broken and needs replacing. Otherwise all the parts are there and in place. Any of these cars would make a good project car for a rebuild and remodel. I would consider selling a car separately depending on a reasonable offer. Cars 1,2 and 3 are in the photo. FOR SALE (Mar 16) ON - ex NYC M-19 This car is part of the estate of my good friend Mike McIlwaine who passed away last year. He was working on this car and it is close, but not quite Narcoa compliant, needing a horn and simple things like fire extinguisher and first aid kit. It was painted by Mike last year and some parts have not been reassembled, particularly the small window panes and some front panels and trim. The car is clean, the engine runs well, wheels and belt are good. It has a new custom made canvas roof covering and retains the working 6 volt generator system. Kathy is asking $2000. FOR SALE (Oct 22) PA - Fairmont Model W-54-D-1 Sickle Bar Weed Mower, Car Number 167587, bult new during WWII for the Hampton & Branchville RR in South Carolina. In great operating condition, everything is loose and turns and moves and has been lubricated. Engine should be runable with tune-up and magneto charge. Complete with original tools and spare parts in rear tool box. Also comes with special draw bar that is spring loaded so that the mower car breaks away from the towing motorcar if the cutter bar hits and obstruction. Cutter bars is adjustable to mow between rail or off to side. Cutter bar can also be raised and lowered to mow banks on an angle. Has been stored inside or under tarps since I bought it in 1996.
