Connotton Valley Railroad

Ohio Valley Railcars (OVR) is hosting an excursion on the Connotton Valley Railroad on March 23, 2003. Total run mileage will be twenty miles on the former Wheeling & Lake Erie trackage between Cleveland and Solon, Ohio. Set-on will be at the Bedford, Ohio depot and departure will occur after our spring meeting adjourns. Fee is $35 per car payable to the Ohio Valley Railcars. Mississippi & Tennessee Railnet

Great Lakes Railcar (GLR) is pleased to sponsor a two-day excursion on the Mississippi & Tennessee Railnet. Participants will travel approximately sixty-five miles each day. The excursion will start each day at 7:00AM at New Albany, MS and going southward in Mississippi on Saturday and north into Tennessee on Sunday. South Branch Valley Railroad

Ohio Valley Railcars (OVR) is hosting an excursion on the South Branch Valley Railroad on April 26, 2003. This run total round trip mileage is 104 miles on the former B&O trackage. We will run between Petersburg and Green Spring, WV and our route will follow the South Branch of the Potomac River through the "trough" home of several bald eagles. Large cars must have the ability to be set on and off the rails without delay to the rest of the group. All cars must be able to turn at the designated unpaved crossing. There will be a 40-car limit. First day we will run between Connersville, IN and Metamora, IN. and enjoy "A day out with Thomas the Tank Engine". On Sunday, June 15th there will be a predawn set-on in Noblesville, IN we will travel south on new tracks towards Indianapolis where we will turn and head north to Tipton. This is wilderness trackage with about a dozen paved over crossings. This excursion will follow the Maine coast between Ellsworth, ME and Machias, ME and is detailed as follows: Saturday - East Machias to Washington Junction. Total trackage is 120 RT miles; Sunday - East Machias to Calais. This is the first NARCOA excursion on this track. Total mileage is 104 RT miles. This year's trip will operate east on the main line through the West Virginia Panhandle and onto Avella, Pennsylvania. Mileage should be around 130 miles. West Virginia Central Railroad

Ohio Valley Railcars presents the Fall Leaf Spectacular. Come ride West Virginia's most Scenic attraction. Travel ex-CSX/ Western Maryland trackage through the mountains and along beautiful rivers on a railroad flanked by some of the best scenery south of the Canadian Border. On Saturday we will start in Elkins, WV at Davis Avenue and travel south through Spruce to the "BIG CUT" and return. The "BIG CUT" is the highest mainline track age east of the Mississippi River. Saturday's run will cover 120 miles. We will pass the Cheat Mountain Salamander, and will stop at High Falls and other scenic locations. There will be some night running on the return trip due to the shorter daylight hours. Make sure your headlights and tail lights are adequate!! Upon return to Elkins the cars will be left on the tracks and security will be present all night. On Sunday we will head north towards Belington and on to Tygart Junction and return. At this time those that would like to setoff can do so and the remainder will run another 20 miles through the tunnel and back. Sunday's run will cover 98 miles. ALL NARCOA and OVER RULES APPLY. No sneakers, sturdy over the ankle hard soled shoes are required will on railroad property. This includes will unloading and loading car. The cost is $125.00 and there is a 50 car limit. Atlanta Railcar Transportation is pleased to sponsor a three-day run over the Georgia Northeastern Railroad (ex L&N). Friday: Whitestone, (all towns in Georgia) to Ball Ground and return. This is a night run, dinner at Two Brothers BBQ. Around 44 miles roundtrip. Saturday: From Whitestone south to Nelson, then north (back though Whitestone) to Blue Ridge and return. Lunch in Talking Rock with enough time to enjoy their festival. Shorter stop in Cherry Log for their festival. Tracks go by several marble mines and through the plants. A trip of 86 miles roundtrip. Sunday: From Blue Ridge to McCaysville and return, following the scenic Toccoa River. Approximately 30 miles round trip. Generally off tracks by noon.
